3 Ways To Use Essential Oils

There are 3 ways to use essential oils...

1. Topically....Apply to skin, usually with a carrier oil. Carrier oils can be grapeseed oil,  almond oil, any really good odorless vegetable oil, coconut oil (If coconut oil is stored at above 76 degrees- like in summer time in your home...it remains liquid. If below 76 degrees this oil solidifies), fractionated coconut oil (which is liquid at temperatures below 76 degrees). You can buy it from DoTERRA and other essential oil companies...as well as on amazon.com. Putting it on on the bottom of your feet is one of the best ways to use essential oils, topically...especially before bedtime. Some oils (citurs, etc.) are photo sensitive...be sure to read about the oils you want to use! (Use Google! )

2. By Diffusing into the air...the healing essences are absorbed into your body through the membranes in your nose and lungs. Your home will smell like a spa!  You can purchase diffusers from amazon.com, aromatools.com, doTerra, etc. If you do not have a diffuser, you can put a drop of oil on the palm of your hand, rub your hands together and cup your hands over your nose and breathe in. There! You have your own personal  aroma treatment! Keep some essential oils in your purse for "on the go" relief when you need it.

If you do not have a diffuser, put a bowl of boiling water on the kitchen counter or in any room you want to scent.  Add 1-9 drops of the essential oil of your choice to the boiling water and in a few seconds the entire area will be filled with a wonderful scent.

3. Internally. You need to be sure the essential oil is pure and therapeutically acceptable to ingest. The cheaper oils found in health food stores drug stores, etc...are never for ingesting and it will say so on the bottles. Some of DoTERRA's oils are recommended for ingestion. Especially those essential oils and blends formulated for helping the digestive system.
MY husband and I like to put a drop of peppermint oil on the roof of our mouth..or on  the tongue... (just use your finger)...wakes us up, gives fresh breath!
My grandson like a drop of orange oil on his tongue.
